Types of Foodline Size Grading Equipment for Fruits and Vegetables

Foodline offers three main types of fruit and vegetable sorting machine. Each type uses a different grading structure and is suitable for different produce.

1. Roller Grading Machines

The roller grading machine uses several parallel round rollers to convey fruits and vegetables. The gap between rollers becomes wider along the grading section.

Smaller produce will fall through the smaller gaps first. Larger produce moves further along the rollers and falls through the wider gaps.

This roller sorting machine works well with round and oval produce, such as potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, apples, oranges, peaches, mangoes, pears, lemons, onions, kiwis.

2. Drum Grading Machines

The drum grading machine uses a rotating drum with holes in different sizes. The drum rotates and moves the produce toward the outlet.

Smaller produce falls through the smaller holes. Larger produce continues into the next zone until it finds a hole that matches its size. The largest produce exits from the end of the drum.

This drum sorting machine is suitable for a variety of round and oval firm fruits and vegetables, such as apples, oranges, citrus fruits, pears, potatoes, onions, garlic.

3. Track Grading Machines

The track grading machine use multiple parallel, flexible silicone tracks. The gaps between the tracks gradually increase along the grading section.

Smaller produce falls through the gaps. Larger produce continues moving forward until it reaches the appropriate gap. The track structure gently handles fragile produce.

This track sorting machine is suitable for small fruits such as cherries, plums, apricots, cherry tomatoes, lychees, longans, and blueberries. It can also be used for agricultural products such as pears, mangoes, citrus fruits, and dates that require gentle handling during the grading process.
